Why We Love Brands
What comes to mind when you think of H&M, Verizon, Louis Vuitton, Disney, Walmart, Nike, Honda, Coca Cola, Mercedes Benz, or Apple?
These are some of the most widely recognized brands in the world. While the list above consists of companies across various industries, what often resonates with us the most is how a brand makes us feel.
In a large sense, we as individuals construct our identity and how we present our selves to others through the brands we choose. A common way we display this is through the clothes and accessories that we wear every day.
Our brand choices are a reflection of how we perceive ourselves and our relationships with the people around us.
Hold that thought and think about that for a minute...
Now, let’s take a look at some of the people around us:
The Hungry(Food Insecure):
In the United States currently, 1 in 9 people struggle with hunger.
Food insecurity is one way we can measure and assess the risk of hunger. Food insecurity describes a household’s inability to provide enough food for every person to live an active, healthy life.
More than 37 million people struggle with hunger in the United States, including more than 11 million children (feedingamerica.org)
The Homeless:
Did you know homelessness is often considered embarrassing, a taboo subject, and governments tend to understate the problem? On a single night in January 2018, there were 552,830 people experiencing homelessness in the United States. 65% were sheltered individuals and 35% were unsheltered individuals. (Extracted from the 2018 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress)
At Risk Youth:
Disconnected youth are teenagers and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 who are neither working nor in school. There are 4,353,300 disconnected youth in America today, or about one in nine teens and young adults (11.2 percent).
These vulnerable young people are cut off from the people, institutions, and experiences that would otherwise help them develop the knowledge, skills, maturity, and sense of purpose required to live rewarding lives as adults. And the negative effects of youth disconnection ricochet across the economy, the social sector, the criminal justice system, and the political landscape, affecting us all. (Measureofamerica.org)
These are just a few examples of the people around us. Royalgami believes in compassion and that we can truly make a difference in people’s lives and our communities together.
We believe we can help feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, progress the fight against cancer, support youth development, and so much more.
Our brand identity is to inspire love and to support causes that are helping to make our world a better place.
We understand that not everyone may feel the same way we do. We understand that not everyone will identify with our brand and that’s okay!
You have a choice, and that’s why we love brands.
